A portion of the lyrics of an old country song say, “Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers …” I can relate. Sometimes Marianne and I will encounter one of my “old flames.” Naturally, I thought every one of them was “the one!” Well, to be totally honest with you, they haven’t exactly aged as well as Marianne. And she rather enjoys giving me a hard time about this. I just thank God for unanswered prayers and for relationships that fell apart, so something much, much better could fall together.
Herein is the Leadership Nugget for this week: As a leader, it’s not necessarily a bad thing when your best laid plans fall apart. You just have to believe that God is allowing it so something better can fall together. Hey guys, the last time I looked, Romans 8:28 was still in The Book. “And we know that “all things” work together for good …” As you take this leadership journey you will learn, like me, to be thankful for unanswered prayers and plans that fall apart. Why? Because sometimes God says “no” and good things fall apart – so better things can fall together!
